Silver Coin Canada: The Calling of an Engineer $25 Silver 2026 Proof
Silver Coin Canada: The Calling of an Engineer $25 Silver 2026 Proof is a collectible issue prepared by the Royal Canadian Mint, inspired by the tradition of presenting the Iron Ring—the distinctive ring received by graduates of engineering programs in Canada. This symbol, present among engineers for over a hundred years, is a reminder of professional responsibility, integrity, and the impact of engineering on the development of society.
The coin is struck in Ag .9999 fine silver, weighs 32.75 g, and has a diameter of 34.5 mm. It has a face value of 25 Canadian dollars and is finished to a Proof standard. A distinctive feature of the issue is the specially designed edge and rim of the coin, whose shape echoes the faceted form of the Iron Ring. The mintage is limited to 5,000 pieces. The coin is delivered in an oversized protective capsule and an elegant mint case.
The design was created in collaboration with the Royal Canadian Mint’s research and development team and pays tribute to Canadian engineers and graduates of technical disciplines, whose knowledge and work shape modern infrastructure and the future of technology.
Obverse features a portrait of King Charles III by Steven Rosati, along with the issuing country’s name and the face value.
Reverse, designed by Pandora Young, references the symbolism of the Iron Ring—the distinctive ring presented to engineers during the professional oath ceremony. The composition emphasizes the ideals of responsibility, professionalism, and pride in the profession.
