Set of 4 Coins Tuvalu: Year of the Horse Quadrant Coloured 4 x 1 Ounce Silver 2026 Proof
Tuvalu: Year of the Horse Quadrant Coloured 4 x 1 oz Silver 2026 Proof is an exceptional set of four coins made of 99.99% pure silver. Each coin weighs one troy ounce (31.107 g) and has been struck to the highest proof quality. These coins are legal tender with a face value of 1 Tuvalu dollar each, and the total mintage is limited to just 1,500 sets.
The four silver coins fit together to form a circle with a square in the centre, inspired by the ancient Chinese “ban liang” currency, first cast during the Qin Dynasty around 200 BCE. The design celebrates the significance of the horse in Chinese tradition, one of the twelve animals that took part in the Emperor’s Great Race, which determined the order of the lunar calendar.
According to the Chinese zodiac, those born in the Year of the Horse (2026, 2014, 2002, 1990 and every twelfth year before) are independent, charismatic, and full of passion and adventure. Their vitality and natural charm often inspire others.
Obverse of all four coins depicts the effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, with inscriptions including the issuing country, denomination, and year of issue.
Reverse designs feature four different scenes with horses symbolising freedom and strength. The top coin depicts a white Friesian horse with a brown mane, rearing in a powerful pose. The right coin shows a chestnut horse galloping along a country path. The bottom coin features a Palomino mare and her foal facing each other, both with golden coats and white manes. The left coin presents a dark bay horse standing on rocky terrain in the countryside. Each design includes the artist’s initials “LB” and the Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark.
The set is housed in an elegant presentation case and a beautifully illustrated shipper with a Year of the Horse theme. A numbered certificate of authenticity confirming the limited mintage is included.
