Three Interpretations of the Year of the Goat
The set commemorates the Year of the Goat according to the Chinese lunar calendar. The goat symbolizes gentleness, creativity, compassion, and perseverance, while the motif depicted on the coins refers to the auspicious saying “Three Goats Bring Bliss”, signifying the arrival of spring, the renewal of nature, and fortunate new beginnings. The three different finishes allow this same design to be admired in distinct and striking forms.
An Exceptional Collector’s Issue
Each coin is made from the highest-quality 99.99% pure silver and has a diameter of 40.90 mm. The reverse was designed by Natasha Muhl, while the obverse featuring the official effigy of King Charles III was created by Dan Thorne. Coin Design
Obverse: All three coins feature the official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III by Dan Thorne. The obverse also includes information on the denomination, weight, and silver fineness.
Reverse: Depicts an adult goat, a young goat, and a kid grazing against the backdrop of a flowering plum tree, symbolizing purity, perseverance, and hope. The design also includes the Chinese character for “Goat,” the inscription GOAT 2027, and The Perth Mint’s “P” mintmark. Depending on the version, the motif appears in a classic proof finish, with colour application, or with gold-covered elements.
