The Germania Beasts – Sleipnir 2 × 1 oz Silver Medal Set 2026 is an exceptional release prepared by Germania Mint, comprising two medals from the highly regarded Germania Beasts series. The issue is dedicated to Sleipnir – Odin’s legendary eight-legged steed, symbolizing divine power, limitless speed and the ability to travel through the nine worlds.
According to Norse mythology, Sleipnir was born from the extraordinary union of Loki and the powerful stallion Svaðilfari. As Odin’s faithful steed, he was able to travel between the realm of the gods, the world of humans and the land of the dead, crossing the boundaries of reality with remarkable ease. His eight legs symbolize perfection of movement, speed and supernatural origin, making him one of the most recognizable creatures in Germanic mythology.
The set contains two medals, each struck from 1 ounce of pure Ag.9999 silver in Brilliant Uncirculated quality. Each medal has a diameter of 38.61 mm and a fictional face value of 5 marks, characteristic of Germania Mint issues. The mintage is limited to 25,000 sets. Both medals are housed in separate, specially designed lens capsules that effectively showcase the relief and protect them from damage. The set also includes a certificate of authenticity.
The obverse, designed by Natalia Danysz, depicts Sleipnir’s majestic head and the front section of his powerful body. The four visible legs emphasize the dynamic movement, strength and stability of the mythical steed, while the elaborate ornamentation gives the composition a mystical and regal character.
The reverse depicts the rear section of Sleipnir’s figure in full gallop, with the remaining four legs completing the image of the legendary eight-legged steed. The dynamic composition conveys his extraordinary speed and freedom to move between worlds. The background features Germania Mint’s distinctive double-headed eagle, which serves as the hallmark of the series.
