Set of 2 coins 20th Anniversary of The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers coloured 2x1 oz Silver 2022 Proof
The silver coins have been struck from pure Ag.999 bullion, weighing one troy ounce and measuring 40 mm in diameter, in proof standard. The products have elements made of platinum. The mintage of the set is 499 pieces. The Royal Dutch Mint, commissioned by the New Zealand Post, is responsible for the production of the coin.
The obverses depict a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, designed by Ian Rank- Broadley. In addition, the obverses feature information on the issuing country, weight, bullion purity and date of issue. The obverses also feature the inscription "MIDDLE-EARTH".
Revs of silver coins depict: Orthanc, the stronghold of the evil sorcerer Saruman, and Barad-dûr, where the spirit of the Dark Lord Sauron resides. The reverse features the inscription 'THE TWO TOWERS', '20th ANNIVERSARY' and the coin's face value. Sacha Lees is responsible for the design of the reverse.
