The Overt of the coin depicts the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II, the coat of arms of the islands of Samoa along with information on the issuing country, weight, proof, year of issue and face value. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
The reverse features an artistic image of a colourful Ostrich Pędziwiatr.
