The silver coin was struck by the Royal Australian Mint, in Ag.999 bullion grade, weighing 1 troy ounce and 40mm in diameter. Not only is the coin distinguished by its stunning reverse image, but it also stands out because it was produced in a limited mintage of just 25,000 pieces. This unique product is packaged in a protective cap.
The obverse depicts the image of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown, the inscriptions: "ELIZABETH II". "AUSTRALIA" along with information on the year of issue and the face value of the coin. The Rewers shows two dolphins against a background of the setting sun, one sticking its head out of the water and the other leaping out of the sea. Below this is the weight and bullion proof, and the inscription 'ROUGH-TOOTHED DOLPHIN'.
