Robin Hood - 825th Anniversary of the Austrian Mint 1 Ounce Silver 2019
The silver coin with the image of Robin Hood is the third and final coin of the Austrian Mint's 825th Anniversary series. All coins forming the series are from 2019 and have a limited mintage of 100,000 each.
The coin with the image of the noble highwayman is a product made of pure sterling silver, weighing 1 troy ounce. The issuer of this bullion coin is the famous European mint Austrian Mint (Münze Österreich).
The history of the Austrian Mint (Münze Österreich) dates back to the 12th century, when Austrian Prince Leopold VI demanded 15 tons of silver in exchange for the release of British King Richard the Lionheart. The process of melting ransoms and minting coins began a long-standing tradition of the Vienna Mint, which became the State Mint during the period of the newly formed Austrian Republic, just after World War I.
Obverse depicts the figure of a crusader on horseback, as well as information such as face value, weight and the year the coin was struck. Reverse is decorated with an illustration of Robin Hood. INDIVIDUAL PIECES ARE SHIPPED IN PLASTIC ROUND CAPS
