The obverse features the image of the eagle established as the coat of arms of the Republic of Poland, placed in the upper left part of the field. Along the lower edge runs the inscription RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA 2014, while the background is complemented by a stylized ice surface with skate marks. Beneath the eagle is the mint mark MW.
The reverse centrally depicts a stylized speed skater in a dynamic pose, emphasizing the speed and precision of the discipline. Along the lower edge runs the inscription POLSKA REPREZENTACJA OLIMPIJSKA SOCZI 2014, with an icy surface bearing skate marks forming the background and harmoniously completing the sporting composition.
