Poland: Manor 1 ounce Silver 2023
Poland: Folwark 1 oz Silver 2023 is the third release in the “Polish Ounce Coins” series, a project distinguished by an unconventional, symbolically open approach to contemporary interpretations of Polish history and culture. The coin was struck in 1 ounce of .999 silver and given an antique finish that highlights its character and the depth of the relief.
The word “folwark” carries many meanings—from the historical term for a large landed estate to contemporary, metaphorical uses referring to social relations. The coin’s design fully embraces this ambiguity, leaving room for the viewer’s interpretation and inviting reflection.
The coins are delivered in a dedicated, two-piece box, suitable for both collecting and display.
Obverse: Features the modern coat of arms of Poland—the crowned eagle—surrounded by the inscription “Rzeczpospolita Polska”. Along the lower edge appears a denomination unusual for a bullion coin: “1 Polish grosz”. To the left of the eagle is a specification with information on weight and fineness: 1 oz Ag 999.
Reverse: Rendered in a symbolic, deliberately ambiguous style. At the center is Iwo looking ahead, and above his left ear appears the word “Folwark,” with the first letter inverted to emphasize the intended distortion and the non-obvious nature of the message. On both sides of the figure are two “drakes,” depicted in a way that suggests conflict or tension.
Note! The coin does not come with a certificate.
