Platinum Coin Australian Kangaroo 1 oz 2027

Platinum Coin Australian Kangaroo 1 oz 2027 brings precious metal together with one of Australia's most familiar symbols. Issued by The Perth Mint, it appeals to those who collect physical bullion as well as collectors building a sequence of dates from Australian coin series.

This coin contains 1 oz of platinum with a fineness of 999.5, measures 32.6 mm in diameter and carries a face value of 100 Australian dollars.

Australian Kangaroo and the Perth Mint tradition

The Australian Kangaroo family has its roots in the Australian Nugget gold coin programme, which began in 1986. Kangaroos later replaced the original nugget motifs and became the series' signature. Its reputation draws on high metal purity, a consistent Australian theme and the expertise of The Perth Mint, established in 1899.

The 2027 issue continues this connection between Australian wildlife and minting craftsmanship. With several metals and weights represented, the series offers different ways to organise a collection: by precious metal, coin size or year of issue.

Obverse and reverse

Obverse features King Charles III as portrayed by Daniel Thorne. The portrait is accompanied by the standard inscriptions of an Australian issue, including the issuing country's details and the denomination.

Reverse shows the classic kangaroo in a lively leap, a motif repeated on this version for years. Strong hind legs, short forelegs and a long tail form the animal's distinctive silhouette, evoking Australia's wildlife.
