Perth Mint coin bar: Lunar III – Year of the Horse 1 oz Silver 2026
Perth Mint: Lunar III – Year of the Horse 1 oz Silver 2026 is a bar-shaped coin struck from 99.99% pure silver, combining the symbolism of the Chinese zodiac with a practical form of investment. In Chinese astrology, the Horse symbolizes vitality, speed, and strength of character, and people born in Horse years — such as 2026, 2014, 2002, or 1990 — are regarded as energetic, independent, and determined. The coin measures 47.60 × 27.60 mm and has a thickness of 3.57 mm.
Each bar-shaped coin is packed in an acrylic tube holding 20 pieces, secured with a Perth Mint security seal. Additionally, the coin includes an authentication feature in the form of micro-engraved letters visible only under a loupe, which enhances its security and confirms authenticity. The maximum mintage is 300,000 pieces.
Reverse The coin depicts a dynamic image of a majestic horse with a beautifully rendered mane, highlighted by the inscription "YEAR OF THE HORSE" and the 2026 year of issue. The design of this side of the coin was created by Lucas Bowers, who gave the scene an elegant, three-dimensional character through precise detailing.
On the obverse appears a portrait of King Charles III by Dan Thorne, together with inscriptions noting the one-ounce weight, 99.99% silver purity, and the face value. The obverse composition is rendered in Perth Mint’s characteristic, elegant style, underscoring the prestige of the Lunar III series.
