The coin was struck from pure Au.9999 bullion, weighing 1/4 troy ounce, 22mm in diameter, in proof standard. This is a limited edition coin of only 500 pieces. The producer of the pieces is the New Zealand Mint. Furthermore, each coin in the collection acts as a fully fledged legal tender and is guaranteed by the Niue Government as to the legality, purity of the bullion and origin of the metal. The Overt of the coin shows an image of Queen Elizabeth II, the inscription "ELIZABETH II", "NIUE" and the face value and year of issue of the coin. The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
