Produced by William Shakespeare, born in 1564 in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, he is regarded as one of the greatest playwrights and poets in literary history. His work has influenced not only English literature, but also world culture. The gold coin was struck in pure Au.9999 bullion, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 32 mm in diameter. The mintage of the coin is limited to only 100 pieces. Furthermore, each coin in the series acts as a fully fledged means of payment. Each coin is supplied in a case and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. The Averse depicts the image of the Goddess of Liberty, the Niue coat of arms, as well as information on the weight, purity of the bullion, year of issue and face value of the coin. The Rewers have William Shakespeare holding a pen, with the Globe Theatre, where many of his plays were performed, and the inscription 'WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE' below him. The reverse was designed by Joel Iskowitz.
