The obverse of the coin is decorated with the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain, the inscription "NIUE ISLAND" and the denomination and year of the coin. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley. The Rewers depicts the 'Tree of Life'. The reverse features coloured crystals and the inscriptions 'STROM ŽIVOTA', 'TREE OF LIFE'.
