Nativity – Angel 1 ounce of copper.
Nativity – Angel 1 oz Copper is a festive issue inspired by one of the most important scenes in the biblical story of Christmas. The central figure of the design is the angel Gloria, who according to the Gospel of Luke appeared to the shepherds, announcing the birth of Jesus Christ with the words: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will.” This angelic hymn became the inspiration for the well-known carol Gloria in Excelsis Deo.
The round is made of 1 troy ounce of .999 fine copper and forms part of a Christmas-themed series of medallions related to the Nativity. Issues of this kind are popular as holiday keepsakes, elements of religious collections, and symbolic gifts with deep spiritual meaning.
Obverse depicts the angel Gloria at the moment of revelation, surrounded by heavenly light. The motif refers to classic iconographic representations in which the angel proclaims the Good News to the shepherds, emphasising the divine nature of the event and the beginning of a new era of hope and redemption.
Reverse features a universal mint mark – a shield placed centrally and flanked by outspread eagle wings. The composition also includes identifying information regarding the weight and purity of the metal, highlighting the piece’s character as a collectible round.
