The Yggdrasil silver coin is a unique offering for enthusiasts of Norse mythology and tree symbolism. This time, Germania Mint presents the legendary Yggdrasil – the mythical Tree of Life connecting all levels of the universe. Its branches reach into the heavens, while its roots wrap around the nine worlds, symbolizing the cycle of life, rebirth, and cosmic order. The coin is struck from the finest silver (999.9 Ag), with a limited mintage of just 4,000 pieces. The designer is Mateusz Frąckowiak.

Obverse: The obverse features the mighty Yggdrasil tree with sprawling branches and an extensive root system. Hidden among the roots is a serpent – Nidhogg, a creature from Norse myths that gnaws at them. The tree’s trunk rises upward, and its crown extends beyond the edge of the design, enhancing its monumental effect. The background includes subtle ornaments that highlight the mystical nature of the motif. The inscriptions on the obverse include: “YGGDRASIL” and “1 oz Ag 999.9”.

Reverse: The reverse depicts Germania’s iconic symbol – a double-headed eagle with outstretched wings. Each talon holds a lightning bolt, symbolizing divine power of creation and destruction. The eagle’s heads face opposite directions, representing a simultaneous look into the past and the future. Above the bird is the inscription “GERMANIA”, while below it are the denomination “5 MARK” and the year of issue. The background is filled with elegant engravings, giving the coin a refined collector’s appeal.
