Mongolia: Chinggis Khaan 1 oz Silver 2026 Proof
Mongolia: Chinggis Khaan 1 oz Silver 2026 Proof is a collector coin commemorating one of the most influential figures in history – Chinggis Khaan, founder of the Great Mongol Empire. The issue combines historical significance with modern minting technology, offering high relief and refined details in an elegant Proof finish.
The coin is struck from 1 oz of pure .9999 silver in Proof quality. Its 38.61 mm diameter allows the composition, inspired by the monumental statue of Chinggis Khaan unveiled in Mongolia in 2025, to be fully appreciated. The mirrored background and precise relief add depth to the scene and emphasize the radiant motif of light spreading behind the ruler’s figure.
The design depicts a young Chinggis Khaan seated on an ornately decorated throne bearing an imperial seal. The three-tiered base symbolizes the past, present, and future, while elements such as tiger skin and a white felt carpet refer to victory and the endurance of the Mongolian state. In the background, the landscape of steppes and mountains reflects the birthplace of the empire.
The coin carries a face value of 500 tugrik and was issued in 2026 in a limited mintage of 1,500 pieces. The silver version represents a more accessible yet still prestigious release within the series dedicated to the legendary ruler.
The obverse features a monumental eagle with extended talons in a dynamic attack-ready pose – a symbol of strength and courage. At the top appears the logo of the Bank of Mongolia along with details of the denomination, weight, and silver purity.
The reverse presents Chinggis Khaan inspired by the monumental statue unveiled on March 1, 2025. The ruler sits on an ornately decorated throne resting on a three-tiered base symbolizing the past, present, and future. The year of issue 2026 and the inscription “Chinggis Khaan” are also visible.
