Mexican Libertad 1 oz Gold 1981 MS65 NGC
The Mexican Libertad is a Mexican bullion coin, produced continuously since 1982 at the Casa de Moneda de Mexico - the oldest mint of the Americas. Minted from 999 purity gold, it is of great interest to both novice investors and more experienced ones. It is interesting to note that the coin, which does not have a minted denomination, is legal tender in Mexico. The obverse depicts the coat of arms of Mexico, namely an eagle holding a snake in its beak and surrounded by a wreath. Above this is the inscription 'ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS', or 'United States of Mexico'. The reverse is decorated with the Independence Monument.
