The Year of the Mouse silver coin, inspired by the Chinese lunar calendar, is the starting product of the Lunar III series. The coin was struck in pure Ag.9999 silver, with a total weight of two troy ounces and a diameter of 40.69 mm, in an antiqued version. The esteemed Perth Mint is responsible for the production of this interesting product. The coin, like the others in the collection, is guaranteed by the Australian Government and is legal tender in the issuer's country. The product is delivered in original packaging with a certificate of authenticity.

The obverse of the Year of the Mouse silver coin is decorated with an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark. The whole is surrounded by the inscription "ELIZABETH II" , "AUSTRALIA" and information on the weight, purity of the bullion, year of mintage and face value of the coin. The Rewers features engraved images of two mice gushing in corncobs and four little mice watching. The reverse side also features The Perth Mint's 'P' mint mark. The talented designer Ing Ing Jong is responsible for the exquisite image of the reverse.
