Literal: American Eagle 1 ounce of silver 2026 Common coin term: American Silver Eagle 1 oz (2026)
The American Eagle is one of the most recognizable silver bullion coins in the world. It is a flagship product from the United States Mint. Each piece featuring the personification of Liberty is struck from pure .999 fine silver with a weight of one troy ounce. It is worth noting that the silver used to produce these coins comes from local sources.
American Eagle Silver BU is a unique coin not only because of its high production quality, but also because it is struck with a rotated die (coin alignment), which means the obverse is rotated 180 degrees relative to the reverse. In addition, every Silver Eagle is legal tender and carries the guarantee of the U.S. government regarding its legality, metal purity, and metal provenance.
Obverse depicts the personification of Liberty, a symbol of the United States and liberation, striding with attributes of peace: an olive branch and a torch. At her feet, the U.S. Capitol is visible, with rays of the sun in the background. The obverse bears the maxim "In God We Trust," derived from the Declaration of Independence. The coin’s obverse design has remained unchanged since the start of Silver Eagle minting in 1986. The design is by Adolph Weinman.
Reverse depicts a single eagle coming in to land and carrying an oak branch, as if to add it to the nest. The inscriptions on the reverse are "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA," "E PLURIBUS UNUM," "1 OZ. FINE SILVER," and "ONE DOLLAR." The design is by Emily Damstra.
SINGLE PIECES ARE SHIPPED IN ENVELOPES OR POUCHES.
