The product has been minted from pure Ag.999 silver, with a denomination of AUD 30 and a weight of 1000 grams. The issuer of the silver bullion coin is Perth Mint. As with all the pieces in the series, this one is a fully fledged legal tender, and is guaranteed by the Australian Government as to the legality, purity of the bullion and the origin of the metal.
The Cocaburra is a series of silver coins produced since 1990. Initially (not counting the first issue which was only minted in one weight - 1 ounce) the collection was struck in four different sizes: 1 kilogram, 10 ounces, 2 ounces, 1 ounce, while in 2010 the quantity was reduced to 3 sizes: 1 kilogram, 10 ounces and 1 ounce. It is also worth mentioning that the collection is distinguished by the fact that the design of the coins changes every year, which makes their value increase from year to year.
The obverse of the coin is decorated with the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II. In addition, the obverse features the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II", "AUSTRALIA" and information about the coin's denomination as designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
Rewers depict two young kookaburras sitting on a tree branch amidst flowers, the inscription "Australian Kookaburra" along with information about the weight, purity of the bullion and the year the coin was struck. The designer was Natasha Muhl.
