The mintage of the silver coin is 30,692 pieces. The product is housed in a plastic cap. The prized Australian mint, Perth Mint, is responsible for the production of the coin. As with the other Australian Koala coins, the 2010 kilogram Koala is guaranteed by the Australian Government and is legal tender in the issuer's country. The Averse of the silver coin is decorated with a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and information on the face value and year of mintage. The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
