Koala 1 oz Silver 2025 Panda Privy Mark (Beijing International Coin Exposition)
Perth Mint: Koala 1 ounce Silver 2025 Panda Privy Mark (Beijing International Coin Exposition) is an exceptional collector’s coin struck from 1 ounce of 99.99% pure silver in proof quality, issued for the Beijing International Coin Exposition 2025. The coin celebrates the Australian koala and features a colored panda privy mark on the right side of the reverse.
The koala holds a special place in the hearts of Australians. As noted in "The Wild Animals of Australasia" (1926), no other native animal has captured public affection like the koala, whose charm comes from its “innocent, babyish expression and quiet and inoffensive ways.” On the coin, the koala clings to the trunk of a eucalyptus tree, showing a cherubic and endearing face.
Reverse designed by Aleysha Howarth depicts the koala. On the right side of the coin, a colored privy mark of a panda is placed.
Obverse designed by Dan Thorne features the portrait of King Charles III along with inscriptions including the issuer’s name, the denomination of 1 Australian dollar, the year of issue, and details of the weight and fineness of the silver.
