Kiwi 5 oz Silver 2025 Proof Coin
The Kiwi Collector's Coin, 5 Troy Ounces of Silver 2025 Proof, is an extremely prized coin that is part of the limited Kiwi series issued since 2004. The 2025 product features a pair of "Apteryx rowi" kiwi birds with their egg, reflecting the unique traits of this species, such as shared parental care between the male and female. The chicks often remain with the family group for several years. The coin is also adorned with a traditional kowhaiwhai pattern, highlighting the connection of the iwi people with the rowi kiwi. This pattern was gifted by Fayne Robinson from Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio.
The coin is minted from pure silver (Ag.999), weighs 5 troy ounces, and has a diameter of 65 mm, in a proof finish by BH Mayer’s Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH, on behalf of New Zealand Post.
Additionally, the Kiwi 2024 has a limited mintage of only 250 pieces. Each piece comes in an exclusive case.
