Kiwi 5 oz Silver 2023 Gilded Black Proof Coin
The coin is minted in pure Ag.999 silver, weighing 5 troy ounces and with a diameter of 65 mm, in black proof by BH Mayer's Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH, commissioned by the New Zealand Post. The coin is gold-plated in yellow gold.
Furthermore, the Kiwi 2023 has a limited mintage of only 300 pieces. Importantly, each piece is supplied in an exclusive case.
The obverse of the coin is decorated with the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse features information on the date of issue, country of issue, weight and purity of the bullion. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
The Rewers depicts a gilded kiwi on a beach among stones. The reverse also bears the inscription 'TOKOEKA SOUTHERN BROWN KIWI APTERYX AUSTRALIS' and the face value of the coin. The reverse was designed by Stephen Fuller.
