Kiwi 2 oz Silver 2025 Gilded Black Proof High Relief Coin
The Kiwi Gold-Plated Collector's Coin, 2 Troy Ounces of Silver 2025 Black Proof High Relief, is a highly prized coin, part of the limited Kiwi series issued since 2004. The 2025 coin features a pair of "Apteryx rowi" kiwi birds with their egg, reflecting the unique traits of this species, such as shared parental care by both the male and female. The chicks often remain with the family group for several years. The coin is also adorned with a traditional kowhaiwhai pattern, highlighting the iwi people’s connection with the rowi kiwi. This pattern was gifted by Fayne Robinson from Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio.
The coin is minted from pure silver (Ag.999), weighs 2 troy ounces, and has a diameter of 50 mm. It features a black proof and high relief finish, created by BH Mayer’s Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH, on behalf of New Zealand Post. The coin is gold-plated with yellow gold.
Additionally, the Kiwi 2025 has a limited mintage of only 250 pieces. Each piece comes in an exclusive case.
