Kiwi 1/4 oz Gold 2025 Proof
The Kiwi Collector's Coin, 1/4 Troy Ounce of Gold 2025 Proof, is an extremely prized coin that is part of the limited Kiwi series issued since 2004. The 2025 product features a pair of "Apteryx rowi" kiwi birds with their egg, reflecting the unique traits of this species, such as shared parental care between the male and female. The chicks often remain with the family group for several years. The coin is also adorned with a traditional kowhaiwhai pattern, highlighting the connection of the iwi people with the rowi kiwi. This pattern was gifted by Fayne Robinson from Te Rūnanga o Makaawhio.
The coin is minted from pure gold (Au.9999), weighs 1/4 troy ounce, and has a diameter of 26 mm, in a proof finish by BH Mayer’s Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH, on behalf of New Zealand Post.
This unique coin is produced using a mirror stamp. Additionally, the Kiwi 2025 has a limited mintage of only 500 pieces. Each piece comes in an exclusive case along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
