Indian Head $10 Gold Random Year is a bullion coin issued by the US Mint starting from 1907, representing a guarantee of 900 fineness gold with precisely defined technical parameters. Each vintage from this period contains exactly 0.4838 troy ounces of pure gold, weighs 16.718 grams, and has a diameter of 27 millimeters. Coins were minted at the Philadelphia, Denver, and San Francisco mints, with the years 1907–1916 characterized by continuous production. The 900 fineness represents the standard for gold coins issued by the US Mint since 1837 in accordance with the Coinage Act of that period. The enrichment with 10% copper strengthened the durability of the coin, ensuring its resistance to damage despite intensive circulation. Various vintages from the range 1907–1933 exhibit variable market availability, resulting from mass melting following the recall of federal gold in 1933. Earlier vintages (1907–1916) are characterized by greater availability, while later issues (1920–1933) exhibit significant fluctuations in availability.

Obverse features the profile of Lady Liberty facing left, adorned with a traditional feather headdress inspired by the cultures of North American indigenous peoples. Around the head are thirteen stars symbolizing the thirteen original states of the Union. The year of issue is placed below the profile. The obverse design by Augustus Saint-Gaudens combines classical beauty with a contemporary interpretation of the freedom and strength of the United States.

Reverse depicts a standing eagle placed on a bundle of arrows and an olive branch, symbols of strength and peace. The inscription "UNITED STATES OF AMERICA" is positioned at the top of the coin. Below the mint mark (if present) is the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM" to the right of the eagle. The denomination "TEN DOLLARS" is placed at the bottom. From 1908 onwards, the motto "IN GOD WE TRUST" was added to the left side of the eagle's breast at the direction of Congress. Coins from 1907–1911 feature 46 stars on the edge, while from 1912 onwards two additional stars were added in honor of the admission of New Mexico and Arizona to the Union.
