Harry Potter: The Flying Car 50p Copper-Nickel 2025 commemorates one of the most iconic events from Harry Potter's second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It depicts the moment when the young wizard, along with his friend Ron Weasley, after the passage to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters is closed, decide to take an extraordinary journey in the enchanted Ford Anglia to reach the school.
The coin is minted from a copper-nickel alloy, weighing 8 grams, with a diameter of 27.30 mm. The mintage of this coin is unlimited. The coin was produced by The Royal Mint and carries the guarantee of the UK government regarding its legality, metal purity, and origin. It is also legal tender in the issuing country.
Obverse of the coin features the likeness of King Charles III along with the denomination and year of issue, designed by Martin Jennings.
Reverse depicts a dynamic scene of the enchanted Ford Anglia flying through the sky, with Harry Potter and Ron Weasley on their way to Hogwarts. The reverse also includes the inscription "THE FLYING CAR." The design was created by Bella Biggs.
