The 2025 Gold Sovereign is a unique coin that combines rich history and modern craftsmanship. Commemorating the 200th anniversary of the legendary Royal Arms design by Jean Baptiste Merlen. This edition has the distinction of being the last to be minted in red gold.
The set of 3 coins from 2025 includes Great Britain: 2025 Gold Sovereign, Great Britain: 1/2 2025 Gold Sovereign, Great Britain: 1/4 2025 Gold Sovereign and is minted from Au.916.7 fineness, with 22-carat gold, proof standard.
The products have a weight and diameter of: 7.988 grams and 22.05 mm, 3.994 grams and 19.30 mm, 1.997 grams and 13.50 mm. Each coin from the historical series has an admixture of copper, thanks to which it is highly resistant to scratches and damage. In addition, all Sovereigns are guaranteed by the UK Government. The product has individual, original packaging.
Obverses show the image of King Charles III of Great Britain wearing a crown, the inscription "CHARLES III∙DEI∙GRA∙REX∙FID∙DEF", designed by Martin Jennings.
The Reverses show the design of the Royal Arms shield by Jean Baptiste Merlen. The date of issue is also given at the bottom of the gold coin.
