Great Britain: The Silver Sovereign 2025 Proof Coin

The Royal Mint has struck a Proof edition of this iconic coin in silver for the first time, offering collectors a unique and exciting opportunity to add a new, unique piece to their collections. This unique value includes the image of Charles III. The monarch was born on November 14, 1948 and comes from the Windsor dynasty. He is the firstborn son of Queen Elizabeth II, who preceded him. The ceremony took place on May 6, 2023 at Westminster Abbey.

The 2025 Sovereign is minted from pure 999 gold, weighing 7.988 grams. In addition, all Sovereigns are guaranteed by the UK Government.

The obverse shows the likeness of King Charles III of Great Britain, the inscription "CHARLES III∙DEI∙GRA∙REX∙FID∙DEF", designed by Martin Jennings.

The reverse shows the scene of Saint George killing the dragon. The date of issue is also given at the bottom of the silver coin. The designer of the reverse was Benedetto Pistrucci.
