The Royal Arms Gold Coin 1 oz Gold 2026 is a bullion issue produced by The Royal Mint, featuring a new version of the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom from the reign of King Charles III. The coin is struck from 1 ounce of pure Au 9999 gold and marks the first King Charles III Royal Arms design to appear on a bullion coin.

The accession of Charles III to the throne in 2022 was an important moment in the history of the British monarchy. The beginning of a new reign also involves updating selected royal symbols, including the coat of arms and official insignia used on state documents. The new interpretation of the Royal Arms was created by Timothy Noad, a renowned heraldic artist associated with projects for the House of Windsor.

The coin was struck to the Bullion standard from 1 ounce of Au 9999 gold. Its diameter is 32.69 mm, and its face value is 100 British pounds. The design combines the investment appeal of a gold bullion coin with the classic symbolism of the British monarchy.

Obverse features the effigy of King Charles III by Martin Jennings, along with the face value, year of issue, and inscriptions identifying the issuer.

Reverse, designed by Timothy Noad, depicts a new interpretation of the Royal Arms of the United Kingdom. At the center is a shield topped with the Tudor Crown, supported by a lion and a unicorn. The composition is completed by the motto “DIEU ET MON DROIT,” meaning “God and my right,” which is the official motto of the monarch.
