The coin was struck from one ounce of .9999 fine gold, has a weight of 31.10 g, and measures 50 × 25 mm. The maximum mintage is only 1,500 pieces. The presented specimen has undergone professional NGC grading and received the highest grade of PF 70 Ultra Cameo, indicating a perfect state of preservation and a strong contrast between the relief details and the mirror-like background. The combination of a limited mintage, one ounce of pure gold, an unusual banknote-inspired form, and the highest grading score makes this specimen an attractive proposition for collectors of modern NBP coins and certified gold issues.
Obverse and Reverse
Obverse features, in the central part, the image of the eagle from the majestic seal of King Casimir III the Great, with the royal insignia – orb and scepter – below. On the left side there is a stylized fragment of the panorama of Kazimierz with the inscription “CASMIRVS,” while on the right a fragment of the panorama of Kraków appears with the inscription “CRACOVIA.”
Reverse shows, in an ornamental medallion, a portrait of King Casimir III the Great. On the left side a stylized Gothic rosette is visible, while on the right there is an oval with fragments of the crown and the crowned initial “K.” The composition is complemented by ornaments referring to the graphic design of the 50 zł banknote.
