The Numismatic Icons Gold Coin – Krios 0.5 Gram Gold 2026 Silk High Relief is the seventh and final issue in the acclaimed series inspired by the most famous motifs of ancient numismatics. The collection presents contemporary interpretations of historic coins from the ancient world, combining classical symbols with modern minting techniques.

The “Krios” edition refers to ancient Delphi – one of the most important places of worship in ancient Greece, dedicated to the god Apollo. Delphi was known above all for the Delphic oracle, where the priestess Pythia delivered prophecies to those arriving from across the Greek world. The site was regarded as the religious center of ancient Greece and the symbolic “navel of the world.”

The coin was issued by the Cook Islands and struck from pure Au.9999 gold, with a weight of 0.5 g and a diameter of approximately 12 mm. The numismatic coin has a face value of 5 dollars, and the mintage has been limited to 5,000 pieces. The coin was produced in Silk Finish quality using the High Relief technique, giving the design exceptional depth and the effect of an ancient relief.

The central motif of the issue is the head of a ram, which in ancient Greece symbolized strength, fertility, divine protection, and ritual sacrifice. The ram was one of the most important sacrificial animals offered to the gods, and its image also frequently appeared on ancient ritual vessels known as rhytons.

Reverse depicts a stylized ram’s head inspired by ancient Greek art. The design is maintained in an aesthetic reminiscent of ancient coins and artifacts, while the ultra-high relief further emphasizes the spatial depth and intricate detail of the composition.
