The 100 Years of Winnie-the-Pooh – Friendship 50p 2026 Proof Gold Coin is a prestigious collector’s issue prepared by The Royal Mint to mark the 100th anniversary of the publication of A.A. Milne’s “Winnie-the-Pooh.” The coin is the third and final release in a series commemorating one of the most recognizable characters in children’s literature.
Since his debut in 1926, Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood have captured the hearts of readers around the world. The 2026 issue celebrates friendship—a value that has been the foundation of the stories of Pooh, Piglet, Eeyore, and Tigger from the very beginning.
The coin was struck in Au 916.7 gold to Proof standard, distinguished by its mirror-like background and exceptionally precise relief. It has a face value of 50 pence, a diameter of 27.30 mm, and a weight of 15.50 g. With a limited mintage of just 100 pieces, it is an exceptionally rare and exclusive collector’s item.
Obverse features the effigy of King Charles III by Martin Jennings, together with the royal inscription, the year of issue, and the face value.
Reverse, designed by The Walt Disney Company, depicts Winnie-the-Pooh, Eeyore, Piglet, and Tigger, emphasizing the theme of friendship as the central motif of the issue. The design is completed by the Disney logo and the inscription “Winnie the Pooh,” referring to one of the most beloved stories in children’s literature.
