Devil's Brigade 1/2 oz Silver 2015
During World War II, Canada joined forces with the United States to form the First Special Services. The unit only operated for two years; nevertheless, the brigade demonstrated the power of united nations against a common enemy, and consequently became a precursor to units such as Canada's Joint-Task-Force 2 and the US Navy Seals, Delta Force and Green Berets.The obverse, designed by Susanna Blunt, depicts Britain's Queen Elizabeth II, along with the face value, which is $2. The reverse features a stylised star, as well as a maple leaf, and the coin's edge bears the inscription 'First Special Service Force'. Below the star and maple leaf is an arrowhead, symbolising the warrior spirit of the FSSF.
