David Playing for Saul 1 NIS Gold 2013 Proofto 18 coin from the "Biblical Art" series. The specimen refers to the biblical story of David and Saul. The image of David playing the harp for Saul to bring him out of his depression after he was stripped of his kingship reflects the rise and fall of Saul as described in the Book of Samuel.

The coin is struck in Au.999 gold, weighing 1.24 grams and 13.92 mm in diameter, in proof standard. The coin is individually wrapped. The mintage of the product is 1,000 pieces. In addition, this unusual piece was produced by The Holy Land Mint. The coin is guaranteed by the Government of Israel as to its legality, purity of the bullion and origin of the metal, and is full legal tender in the issuing country.

Rewers depicts David playing the harp for Saul. The designer of the reverse was Moshe Pereg.
