Crested Penguin 1 oz Silver 2020 (without certificate)
Crested Penguin — the first silver bullion coin in history — Premium Bullion — struck by New Zealand Post in cooperation with the Reserve Bank of New Zealand and Metal Market Europe!
The representative of the first bullion coin will be the crested penguin — once a distinctive representative of New Zealand fauna. The entire series, of which this penguin is a part, will focus on species that once inhabited New Zealand territories; all of these species are now considered extinct.
The silver bullion coin, Crested Penguin, has been minted with a weight of one troy ounce and a fineness of 99.9% pure silver. This piece has a reeded edge, a diameter of 40 mm, and a face value of 1 New Zealand dollar. Although the Crested Penguin is an investment product, it is also a Premium Bullion product with a limited mintage of only 25,000 pieces. It is worth noting that such a low mintage is a real treat for anyone seeking exceptional pieces that not only enhance the diversification of an investment portfolio but also the uniqueness of a collection.
Reverse The reverse of the silver coin features a pair of crested penguins standing on a rock against the ocean. In the background of the main design, you can also see the New Zealand “koru” motif, referencing the shape of an unfurling fern frond. The design is encircled by the inscription “Chatman Island Crested Penguin.” The reverse was designed by Dave Burkle.
Obverse The obverse depicts Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, by Ian Rank-Broadley. In addition, the obverse bears information on the issuing country, weight, silver content, and year of issue.
