The obverse shows an image of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse also features the inscription "ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS" and the denomination and year. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
The Rewers shows the Spartan warriors. The reverse also contains the inscription "SPARTA".
