Cook Islands: Meteorite Impacts - Tenham coloured 1 oz Silver 2023 Proof Ultra High Relief
In 1879, in the vast wilderness of Australia near Tenham Station in western Queensland, bright meteors flashed across the sky, leaving precious stones scattered over a vast area. The coin was struck in pure Ag.9999 silver, weighing 1 troy ounce and measuring 38.61mm in diameter, in proof and ultra high relief. The mintage of the coin is 2,500 pieces. The product is full legal tender in the Cook Islands.
The obverse features an image of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse also features the inscription "ELIZABETH II", "COOK ISLANDS" and the denomination and year. The obverse was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
Rewers show a collaged, cartoonish scene of a meteorite impact on the city.
