The Cook Islands Coin: HMS Bounty 50 grams Silver 2021 was styled after the legendary ship from the novel The Bounty Mutiny. The mutiny that took place in the Pacific ended with the surrender of the captain and 18 crew members. Forced to abandon ship, they were left in the middle of nowhere in a small lifeboat. After a murderous 3,500-mile swim, the captain eventually reaches safe land, from which he begins a search for the rebels.
The coin was struck in pure silver of Ag.9999 and weighing 50 grams.
The Rewers of the coin feature an engraved image of a sailing ship belonging to the East India Company and an image of Queen Elizabeth II. The obverse also features the inscription 'ELIZABETH II', 'COOK ISLANDS' and the weight, purity, country of issue, denomination and year of issue of the coin. The designer of the obverse was Ian Rank-Broadley.
