Congo: Prehistoric Life - Dunkleosteus 0.5 gram Gold 2023 Proof is an investment coin, which is the eleventh release coming from the Prehistoric Life series. It is worth noting at this point that the prehistoric collection will include 12 coins that will be issued from 2020 to 2023. The coin depicts the prehistoric armoured fish - Dunkleosteus. The animal was found in the shallow seas of the North American, African and European continents around 380 to 360 million years ago. The fish reached a body length of up to six metres, making it one of the largest predators in the aquatic environment. The gold coin containing the image of the Dunkleosteus has been made from pure Au.9999 gold, weighing 0.5 grams, 11 mm in diameter, in proof standard. This small coin has a limited mintage of 2,000 pieces. In addition, the 2023 gold coin is full legal tender and is guaranteed by the Government of the Republic of Congo.

The Averse of the gold coin depicts the coat of arms of the Republic of Congo and information on the face value, weight and purity of the bullion used. The Rewers shows the image of Dunkleosteus, the inscription "PREHISTORIC LIFE". The reverse also shows the year the coin was struck.
