Chiwoo Cheonwang considered a hero in both Chinese and Korean culture. The leader of the Nine Li tribe originating from ancient China. Chiwoo is recognised as one of the three legendary founding fathers of China and the 14th Shinshi Emperor, the first semi-legendary state, the cradle of the first Korean nation. The gold medal produced in South Korea by KOMSCO contains 99.9% gold and has a weight of 1/10 ounce.This is the first gold medal in the series to be included in the certipack and has a weight of 1/10 ounce.The obverse features a shield design of Chiwoo Cheonwang with an image of Dokkaebi, a unique mythical being from Korea called a ghost, monster or god, similar to the hob-goblin from Western culture.The reverse features an image of Chiwoo Cheonwang in military armour on horseback.
