The obverse shows the coat of arms of Israel, and the inscription "1952-1962" written in Hebrew and Arabic, according to a design by Miriam Karoli. The obverse bears the denomination information: 50 ILP-"חמישים לירות ישראליות ", the year and the country of origin.
Rewers depict an image of Chaim Weizmann and his name written in Hebrew "חיים וווייצמן". The designer of the reverse was Andre Lasserre. In addition, the coin bears the mint mark "מ".
