"Canadian wolf- a subspecies of grey wolf, a predatory mammal of the canid family (Canidae), found in Canada in the Northwest Territories, Yukon, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, and Alaska. Probably the largest subspecies of grey wolf (weight up to 80 kg, record 105 kg), it has produced many size forms across western Canada and Alaska. Coat colour variable, usually cream, grey to black with darker patches on the back. Reintroduced to Yellowstone and Idaho in 1995. They are subject to legal hunting in Alaska and parts of Canada."
