Canadian Maple Leaf 10 oz Silver 2017
The US Mint opened in 1792, with renowned scientist David Rittenhouse (1792-1795) as its first director. The Mint was established as a response to the unstable monetary rates occurring at the time-people realised the importance of stability in circulation. Today, the mint is one of the most prestigious mints in the world. In recent times, production has fluctuated between 4 and 10 billion coins per year, making the American Eagle coins already known all over the world. The United States Mint operates in six cities across the country: the headquarters is in Washington DC, the treasury in Fort Knox, and production centres in Philadelphia, West Point, Denver and San Francisco. Obverse: all the coins in this series have the same obverse - an image of George Washington in a restored version, created by John Flanagan. The reverse of the coin features an image of a turkey .
