The Canadian Maple Leaf one ounce gold anniversary bullion coin is an exceptionally interesting collector's item. The coin was issued to celebrate the fortieth anniversary of the maple leaf design. The producer of the anniversary numismat is, of course, the Canadian mint - the Royal Canadian Mint.The jubilee coin differs fundamentally from the classic maple leaf design. The obverse features the, perfectly recognisable, profile of Queen Elizabeth II, the coin's denomination ($50) and the dates defining the forty-year minting period of the gold maple leaf coin (from 1979 to 2019). The reverse is, in turn, an extremely striking maple leaf on a background of the large number 40. The reverse also contains information on the coin's proof (Au 9999) and country of origin.
