Canada: Williamson Diamond Brooch $20 Silver 2025 Matte Proof
Canada: Williamson Diamond Brooch $20 Silver 2025 Matte Proof is the second coin in the "Crown Jewels" series, celebrating the most famous jewels associated with the British monarchy. The 2025 edition commemorates the priceless Williamson Diamond Brooch, with its central element being the extraordinary pink diamond – one of the largest and purest of its kind in the world. The jewel was gifted to Queen Elizabeth II by Canadian geologist John Thoburn Williamson as a wedding present and was later set in a platinum brooch completed in 1953, the year of the Queen's coronation. For seven decades of her reign, Queen Elizabeth II wore the brooch on important occasions such as the Silver Jubilee in 1977 and the weddings of her children.
The coin is struck in .9999 fine silver, weighing 31.39 grams and measuring 38 mm in diameter, in a matte proof finish. The coin is plated with rhodium, and in its center is a pink glass stone symbolizing the legendary diamond, surrounded by 28 crystals that give it an extraordinary shine.
The mintage of this coin is limited to only 6,000 pieces, making it an exclusive collectible numismatic item. Each coin is delivered in an individual, certified packaging. Additionally, it carries the government of Canada's guarantee of its legality, purity, and metal origin, and is also a legal tender in the issuing country.
Obverse of the silver coin features an effigy of King Charles III, designed by Steven Rosati, along with the issuance date.
Reverse features an elegant design inspired by the Williamson Diamond Brooch, with a pink stone surrounded by 28 shining crystals. The design was created by The Royal Canadian Mint's artist team.
