Canada: Wildlife - Moose 1 oz Silver 2012 GCN ECC MS70
A silver coin from the Wildlife series featuring the Moose. The Canadian Moose coin is the fourth coin in the series, minted by the Royal Canadian Mint. Each edition features a low mintage of 1 million coins. The Royal Canadian Mint was officially opened in 1908 by Governor General Earl Grey, minting the first 50-cent coin produced on Canadian soil. After the coin began to be issued, the only competitor to the coin was the South African Krugerrand, but due to the apartheid boycott, this was not available to the general public. This made the maple leaf gold coins very popular. The Averse depicts the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II, as designed by Susann Blunt. Below this is the denomination ($5) and the mintage year (2012).
The reverse shows a majestic moose, Canada's largest land mammal and ruler of Canada's forests.Do you need help? Do you have any questions?Ask a question and we'll respond promptly, publishing the most interesting questions and answers for others.
